Lighter Rear Brake Kit

Finally got around to this, my Lightweight Rear Brake kit

So what is involved in this kit:
-Rear Subaru 2-pot conversion (Refurb Calipers from Rock Auto), Torque Solutions adapter
-Metal Bar from home depot for pad spacers
-Single Vane Rotors from "base" gt86 overseas. $35 on ebay

I recall an old post with Robispec claiming 3lb lighter per side with the Subaru 2pot. Counting in the adapter I only got 1lb lighter per side fully loaded.

a little over 5.5 lbs for the 2pots + adapter

+ spacers added .25 lbs. Only showing 4 here I ended up using 6

Stock loaded Caliper 6.75 lbs

Single Vane Rotor 11.25lbs

Stock Rotor 13.25lbs

Had to do a little grinding to get it on better but really on a small 1mm casting was removed

Adapters Bolted on

I used this stuff sandwiched between each backing pad to keep them from vibrating against each other

So I used 3 plates on the front side, no plates on the back side. Although I will probably make a 1/16" thin plate for the back side so far it hasn't been necessary

Looking Good !

Haven't done any crazy 100-0 stops but bedding in and driving around no issues or noises so far. Stops like it normally did

If this has issues I can just put the stock rear rotor in and keep my 2pot setup

So what was the point of this? To get lighter of course!

So you lose 2lbs in the rear from the 2pots, and 4lbs of rotation mass from the rotors

6lbs Total!

New vehicle weight 2331.25 LBS
