So you are saying that by making an (admittedly inappropriate) assumption based on my real world experience in house shopping twice in the Mid Atlantic region of the USA, as well as my experience with a number of domiciles of friends and family, most of which have heat pumps for heat, I need to base my statements more on real world experience? That is an interesting proposition.

Perhaps you have some experience with @korhun's region of Turkey and can confirm what sources of electric heat are most prevalent?

Where I grew up in NY, we had hot water baseboard heat with an oil furnace. That's what that picture looks like to me. Are you suggesting that is also hot water heater by a resistive element, or a resistive element radiator?

Also, korhun, what kind of electric heat would you say is most prevalent?
