If the car is totaled I get that paid without any fight since they are part of the agreed value of the car. People will pay thousands of dollars for wheels or parts but balk at an extra few dollars to insure them which makes no sense to me.

I've had multiple insurance companies 'verbally tell me' that any modifications cannot and will not be covered. I was unaware there would be any willing to cover mods.
