Thank you. I feel that at 300hp, the car can handle it to it's full potential. I didn't want to go overboard with power which is why I went with the Cosworth. It comes with a custom intake manifold and really looks OEM. Completely eliminates the torque dip.
But if you were to go much more over this, you will have to do some suspension upgrades. It's a light car and if you give it too much power, you aren't going to be able to put that power down and it will just spin the tires. I haven't changed anything suspension-wise on the car. Same shocks, sway bars, everything...
I had considered a short shifter but I don't feel it really needs it unless you go with a lighter flywheel. I added a Fidanza aluminum flywheel a few weeks ago and it really brings out the character of this engine. It revs quickly and likes faster shifting now. But for me, I think the stock shifter works just fine. Even though I've changed a lot on this car, I also want it to look like it came from the factory the way I have it. I wanted it to look more like a true STI version should have looked and performed.
The car needs a little boost. I like the positive displacement supercharger of the Cosworth. It's completely predictable and linear in power delivery. I have never driven a turbo BRZ, but I suspect it wouldn't be quite as fun.
