The actual speed limit is considered to be 5 miles an hour above the posted limit. The posted speed limit on I-95 is 70 MPH. But everyone (including the cops) goes at least 75 MPH.

I actually tried arguing this with a cop years ago when he pulled me over for 45 in a 40. Didn't work haha. At least it was just a citation and not a ticket though.
