Hyundai and Honda are the only ones actually trying to win over enthusiasts. VW and Ford just tarted up their economy cars and Subaru hasn't touched the STI powertrain in a decade, it's not even a competition these days.
To be fair to Subaru, I'm not all convinced they are even capable of major overhauls to that power train due to internal politics. I'm mean, look at what happened when they built the BRZ/86, all of a sudden the FA started getting thrown into other vehicles.
