Also also, I'm waiting for someone to tell me how they check pad depth for the inner pad on any car without removing the wheels (or lifting the car into the air). It's impossible. And IME it's usually the inner pads that are thinner from use.

I have not done it on my BRZ but have on other cars. If you get a telescoping mirror and flashlight you should be able to look through the window and see both brakes without taking the wheel off. It’s not perfect but I can usually see enough to make a decision on when I need to get new pads. I also rotate my wheels and always check at that time.
