Suspension, abrasives, etc.
Also good for moderately hot work. And for hooking up trailers when you don't want to waste a set of nitrile gloves for a few minutes of work.
Usually have nitrile, "mechanix" style gloves and welding gloves nearby for various car work. Welding gloves are ideal for a brake job mid endurance race for example
