Since this thread has been bumped; I noticed a lot of guys going through great lengths to deal with the fact that the hooks on many strap options dont fit through the front eye hooks. When I stumbled on this issue I went to tractor supply and picked up some chain quick releases and they work as a great adapter. Just make sure you get the proper weight rating. One of mine can hold the weight of the entire car. Here is an example.
