I've always taken issue with this saying. That which doesn't kill you... could still seriously cripple you for life. But, since my mind likes to connect dots it came up with the potential argument against that point, that being, even if it cripples you, maybe you gain mental strength from overcoming your new obstacles and are better for it. (You'll never walk again, but hey! You learned you have a strong soul.)

I still take issue with it, though.
