I'm currently in a tough situation. A month into ownership and some lady hit my car while parked. Shes going through insurance as I also have paint protection film on the whole vehicle.
I've got 2 options. Fender repair or fender replacement.
Fender is bent in, bowed out at another, small dent at top and out of alignment at hood and door.
If I go the repair route the fender will be completely removed and repaired off the vehicle. By going this route the paint and blend can be kept to panel though by doing this a slight coat of bondo will be required.
If I go the replace route the fender will be replaced and fender alignment will be adjusted as needed. While having a perfectly new fender again I will have to blend the bumper, hood and drivers door into that fender panel.
The repairer will call me in every other day to check the on the car and go through alignment with me. I can also top in if I want to at anytime to see how things are going.
What should I do to get the best results on a new car? Money wont matter since insurance is covering the repair costs. I'm very picky since this car is a month old so I want it looking like nothing ever happened and won't cause issues down the road as I plan on keeping this car for many year to come.
