WOW. The youngsters are very sensitive and defensive of their ear buds/headphones!
It was just an observation not a condemnation of any kind.
I don't care how many New Yorkers get hit by a bus but I would want to hear what is going on around me. Mind you I also don't hate people and want to shut them all out so there is that.
