Alright, so first open up My Computer twice
Now close the first one you opened
Click on the CD drive. Did it say no media? Good. Now open C:
Click on Program Files
Now go back... yeah, I know its weird
Now go to Windows
System32
cmd.exe
Type netstat -a and hit enter
This may take a bit, but let me know if anything in the local address says 127.0.0.1. It does? good.
Now type ipconfig /all and hit enter
How many times does it say "Media disconnected?" 3? Cool. Oh 4 actually? That's okay, too.
This time type cd c:\ and hit enter again
Now type tree and hit enter
There's a lot of stuff there, but scroll up and let me know when you find anything that says x86. It does? Good.
Now choose start, shutdown, install updates and restart and that message about pending updates should go away.
