If anyone has questions on the subject of using a pyrometer to get a more accurate picture of how the tires and suspension are working, fire away.

The primary reason I share this info is to help drive home the point that there is no "best pressure" for everyone.

Hot pressures vary widely even on the same car, driver, track. Just the sun coming out, wind picking up, rubber starting to collect, can all change target hot pressures. Even with no environment changes, just altering shift points, adding wing angle, changing brake bias (if that's adjustable), can also affect target hot pressures. Target hot pressures are constantly changing. That little temp probe is the first step in learning how to dial in your pressures.
