I think you're the first person I've seen to request the 86 platform actually be "slower".
The taller final drives are actually pretty popular with the turbo guys. I looked at it too for my LS1. But the turbo guys want to stay in boost longer and I want to mitigate torque (cuz I have way too much now lol). I would like better gas mileage though. No idea what I get now but my wallet says it's not enough
