Five years MSE OP. Two years Germany during the cold war. First strike ground zero if a Soviet attack ever developed. The fact that it did not was meaningless for the tension back then.
Two tours UN Peacekeeping Missions. Beruit and Sinai. Took mortar and small arms fire. The exposure to asbestos while paroling bombed out Beruit has taken at least two of the people I served with and could very well be the end of me some day in the foreseeable future.

Seven years Navy Reserve retired as a Lieutenant Commander. No naval action in the 90s of course. Directly participated in three hazardous at sea rescues and two body retrieval missions.

I am in no way undermining your service history but simply CAN NOT STAND a feeling of entitlement because of it. We choose to serve and if the public wishes to show appreciation for that then wonderful. I do not expect nor demand special treatment though.
