Ultimately IMO, behavioral stuff like this is solved with parenting 95% of the time, or with additional help from qualified people. There's no need to be chasing lawyers for this crap, and the wrong usage of science is especially egregious to me (I've done research in the past regarding this.) The industry (especially large publishers) deserve to be called out on all of these issues, but this is the wrong way.

nicely said. i've been trying to write something similar, but it kept coming off as less intelligent and whiny, so i gave up.
the part that bothers me the most lately about everything is a reliance on legislation and government to control or restrict products or people from specific actions instead of staying out of it and forcing people to live with the consequences of their own actions.
