While I agree that a 235/40 would be the widest tire for a 7.5" wheel. (Though a 225/45 is probably best)

A 245/40 is the closest to a 215/45.

215/45/17 = 24.6" diameter
245/40/17 = 24.7" diameter

235/40/17 = 24.4" diameter
