I've always had the mentality that it will be fine. I bought the car at ~175k kms, drove it for 2 weeks while getting it prepped for the track (pads, fluid, camber, RS4's). No signs of issues driving on the street. Go to the track, 4 laps in and a smoke-show (blown engine).
Wish I got the reliability you have for your track days!
