This is the dumbest way to inspect brake pads. Why? You’re only looking at half of the pads.
Any halfway decent mechanic, DIY or professional, will look at both outside and inside pads during an inspection.
So yes, you’re right. This is a shitty design. Should’ve made the rotors transparent.
