LOL! So your rebuttal is an ad hominem? Nice.

The GT86/FRS/BRZ is a cracking car and has filled a niche, where no fixed roof car was. I think there is a good chance I will own one in the future as it ticks a lot of boxes, but it has not changed the car world. Firstly how could it, it's only been available for a few months? It will sell in modest numbers compared to Civics, Focus, 3-Series, etc...

This car will likely not impact the non-enthusiast car buying public the way the MX5/Miata did. It is not the Dodge Caravan, Toyota Prius, or whatever other cars have come along and defined/created a genre.

Please feel free to bookmark this post for 5-10yrs down the line when we can look back and see all these new small, affordable, low capacity, 2+2 coupes running around. Then I will happily retract my opinion and say I was wrong and you were right.

It is great to be enthusiastic and keen on this car, but some perspective is needed before we all start anointing this as the bestest car in the history of bestest things ever. Hyperbole shifts magazines, but there is no reason to buy it hook, line, sinker
