So I get right away what you are getting at. Even now as I'm letting paint dry on my headers about to crawl yet again under the car I wish I had the 800 or so for a shop to do this work.

I have a 4Runner I haven't drove in over 5 years that I have over $16K in. Could probably buy a complete one for half that.
I have a bunch of buddies into lowriders. The "built not bought" thing comes up all the time. They talk about how none of the guys that say that do their own interior, paint, ect. and they talk down to the guys that bought mostly done cars. How can they claim built not bought if they didn't do most of the work you see themselves? My one buddy does paint, he said it is stupid, don't get into it.
