Seriously though, this is a waste of time. I don’t know what being a millennial has to do with anything. Like I said before, people have their own preferences and driving styles and it has nothing to do with age or whatever. Get what you want and shut up about it.

Age absolutely has something to do with it. Autos have improved dramatically over time and are becoming the preferred transmission to the point that the manual is becoming extinct. Many younger people don’t even have parents that have driven a manual. Using the term millennial in a derogatory way is silly though. There is nothing wrong with someone driving an auto. The only thing wrong is calling someone stupid for their transmission preference.
In a perfect world people would understand that the modern auto outperforms the manual but also understand that some people find the manual more enjoyable regardless of the technical drawbacks. In a perfect world the manual would always be an option but that just isn’t realistic. Especially with the younger generation (statistically) not being interested in them.
And for the love of god would people who have literally never driven a manual stop saying stupid stuff like “okay so you’re soooo superior to me because you can move a little stick around”. Half the time they make comments like that the manual guy never even said he was superior. It’s like the whole world has an inferiority complex these days.
One other thing. Why are AT drivers so defensive? Your transmission of choice isn’t one the chopping block. As an MT guy isn’t just annoying as hell to see AT guys to be so defensive and constantly remind me that my transmission of choice is becoming extinct when they have literally nothing to loose if it doesn’t go extinct. It seems more like they are too concerned about how other people view them and aren’t defending the transmission but their choices. Who cares if people say silly crap like your aren’t a man if you have an auto.
