why is 'because it's fun' such a difficult answer for people? it's not about efficiency, or because it's old, or more engaged. it's because it gives me something to do.
given the option of a 'manu-matic' that my last car had, i found myself always shifting myself because the cars shift points irritated me, and it was more enjoyable to shift myself. it didn't save gas, it wasn't more efficient. it was just more fun to me.
some people have fun different ways. go figure.

You’re right BUT the MT crusaders always seem to ignore that fact that some of us find the AT transmission fun.
I like the paddle shifters because they’re different and fun.
