I recently replaced my key housing, I never liked the factory key (Its the same as the Camry/Corrola key) so I got one of these:

It takes a few minutes to take both keys apart and replace the working parts. Make sure you get the RFID chip: without it the car will not start. on my key I had to kind of cut it out with a dremel. All told, was a half hour project to do.
1) Open both keys
2) Swap the button/batter/remote module
3) Bring over the RFID chip.
4) Close everything up, take it to a locksmith and have them cut the key. Mine refused to charge me for it, but it could be $5 to $10 bucks.
Or you could do it in reverse order: cut the key first, then do the swap. Best of luck, the only tools you should NEED are a tiny phillips screw driver and maybe an exacto knife.
