It's very common on WRX, STI, and other subaru bumpers because the plate location is flat.
FRS/BRZ/86 have always had curved bumpers/grilles where these would mount. Not sure how well it will work. Might need some rubber stand-offs.
A lot of people just paint-match some plastic plugs
