The customer reviews are somewhat self-selecting based on tire preference. Doubtful many Camrys are on serious performance rubber.
Also customer reviews over millions of miles compiled in ratings charts will include a lot of different kinds of cars from lightweight Miatae and FT86s to muscleycars and AMG Mercedes behemoths, and also a lot of FF hothatches, etc. But *relative* ratings between tires in a similar category should remain valid.
I put more stock in the objective test results and opinions of testers comparing tires directly, but IMO the "wisdom of crowds" in the tire ratings charts can also be very valuable in determining which tire to get.
