And if the engine is NOT out of the car? What would something like that cost to have examined for us non-mechanics?

It seems the precautionary measures to protect ones engine post-recall is slowly changing from oil inspections to pickup tubes. Have yet to do either. So for, only 600 miles post recall and it seems run faster! I think Subaru may have thrown in a supercharger.
