Don't be ah blaming it on your cell phone; most cell phones today have bigger pixel cameras than most cameras had a few short years back.
Yep, that gum is disgusting!
OEM mudguards are a good modification, I don't know about the JDM marker things -

Agreed on megapixels on cameras/phones. I am old enough that I used film before ever using digital cameras (and I still have a few Nikon SLRs and some 35mm film in the house). So I remember that digital cameras were worse than most phones these days, and that very good photos can come from phones. I think the first digital camera I used in the early 00's was 1.3mp. It did use an SD card though instead of a floppy disk, so it was pretty cutting edge.
My phone has a
groundbreaking 5 megapixels (not that megapixels are a true representation of picture quality, but that's another subject)

My calling it a crappy picture because I was in a hurry and snapped a couple pictures and didn't do much to compensate for the lighting to get a little more detail in the front end, and also that the car was pretty dusty that day, aside from having gum on it (that you can't see).
Incidentally, the reason I even stopped and took a picture of the FR-S was that I had just taken a picture of an old Subaru Brat sitting by the roadside. It reminded me of a thread on the JapaneseNostalgicCar.com forums and I took some pictures to post there. Now that it's not 8/6 day, here are pictures of it.
EDIT: pics resized.
