If the bluetooth exclusivity is even a thing or actually even works there's definitely ways around it. Rooting the device will definitely do it, but I'm sure there's plenty of easy workarounds if you google it. I've actually been thinking about trying a bluetooth OBDII to work with HLT, so I'll try it and report back. I know I've got one laying around somewhere.
