First off, WHY are you doing spirited driving with an 86 on gravel roads?? - What do you think it is the 1940s??

Which reminds me of back in the day, my old Chevrolet had "gravel pans" on the front and rear (see in the picture - the pan between the bumper and body). So, you would just brush the gravel that snuck through, off of the pan.

In your case, I would try to suck out the gravel with a shop vac.
