one issue you are running into is stretching an all season tire on wide rim set up, typically I dont have issues with a 245 on 17x9s
BUT I usually run 200tw or rcomps which naturally are wide as heck for their given "size"
try looking at a 255/40-17 the s2ki forums have alot of tires mounted on 17x9s
