We know it was due to the recall, but if the dealership doesn't want to back it up you will have to fight it.
If you remove a door panel and replace a window motor the window motor has a 12 mo warranty. The door panel does not inherit any of that warranty.
If the tech breaks the door panel taking it off and glues it back together, which later falls off when you slam the door... that's on the dealer.
It's just like that. But $10k.

Yea, I get that. Didn't read your message that way though, you just said because the car wasn't under warranty they wouldn't do anything to check it. Since the repair is under warranty they "should" evaluate if the repair caused the problem.
Of course, that is expecting good faith on the part of the dealer I realize...
