Well it finally happened, funny thing is I only got the recall because a friend of mine had it done earlier and put on tons of kilometres without issues. I swear the day my car was ready to be picked up after the recall, he spins a rod bearing.
When I went to pick up my car today, there were three cars sitting in the lot with dead engines.

Vehicle Make: 2013 FRS
Mileage After Recall Performed: 2000km
Symptom(s): loud knocking, started at around 5k rpm and car shut off shortly after
Failure: tbd

Is Dealership Offering Repair: No, because car was out of warranty, dealership wanted to charge labour to start any diagnosis. Service tech said it would be a waste of time/money because I obviously needed a new engine and sent me straight to Toyota Canada to try to start a claim.
