The 5 speed Mercedes transmission used for the last 25 or so years has a governor at the tail shaft that allows line pressure to pop a slider out and block the shift shaft from reverse and park.
Had a girl whose governor was stuck many years ago, you could only put the car in park after you turned it off. No money, college kid, blah blah blah. We cut the post off the shift shaft. That poor Mercedes would go to reverse at any speed you wanted
Never saw it again. So it either ended in a spectacular fashion, or is still on the road today.
It would be interesting to see a DCT apply both clutches at once. I’m sure it has happened and will happen again, not one I’ve seen though.
