finances aren't as much of a concern as much as losing out on the fun of the s2000. I want rwd, 2700lbs, 250+hp, hardtop, some interior space, 2 door, manual. for less than 25g. This seems to fit that perfectly, and nothing else on the market compares for that price. But I feel like a 300hp twin would be more fun to drive than my s2000 and it would be more practical at the same time. I'm good at working on cars by myself so I'm not worried about maintenance and repairs.

I mean the 86's run a 14.8 second quarter mile, the same as a fiesta ST, 2006 s2000 is 13.8, which is the same as a 2005 porsche cayman s. Pretty big difference in straight line performance IMO. The s2000 is slow, don't get me wrong, but it's just borderline slow. I couldn't even imagine having 50 less hp than I do now.

Stock vs stock there isn't a huge difference in straight line performance, so it just depends how much more oomph you want out of it. The edelbrock supercharger is also a great option for a meaty powerband.

I like the crawford kit because it seems like they put alot of attention into making it an oem-like drop in kit. It's a simple kit, comes with everything, isn't aiming for crazy hp numbers, twin scroll kit so lots of low end boost and they seem to know what they're doing. I don't really want to piece together a kit from different suppliers.
Also I had a bugeye wrx and I loved the turbo spool on that thing. superchargers are better in every way and I get that, but I just love the drama that a turbo adds. It just makes everything so much fun to drive.
