they already made the car HEAVY. i don't remember (or care to look for right now) exact weights, i just remember thinking "wow, what a porker." cruise control shouldn't add any weight to the car, aside from a switch to turn it on. with electronic throttles, no CC actuator is necessary.
just seems like ditching amenities is a too-little-too-late effort to make the car lighter.
