Assuming you fit. It really is the gold standard for "affordable, reliable, light convertible".

In fact, I've been looking around and there isn't another car that exists similar to an old miata in the last 30 years. Which frustrates me, since my knees hit the steering wheel, shoulder hits the door card and helmet would stick up well above the "roof". I've decided a 986-987 boxter is about as close as I'll be able to get, although they're quite a bit heavier, and a good one is about 4x as much money, hah.

If you fit comfortably though... I don't know many people who have regretted a Miata.
