Agreed. 225/235 are ideal.
I got a wicked deal on PS4s in 215/45 and mounted them on a set of 8" wheels I had laying around.
They have a small amount of stretch. Though not ideal they're still within the minimum recommended size for 8".

Most of the higher end performance tires tend to fit wider than most other tires in the same size which helps.
