Hard to shift out of Park

I recently purchased a Turbocharged 2015 Scion FR-S (Automatic).
I noticed that the shifter is abnormally hard (ie. shifting from park to drive/reverse) and am wondering what might cause that?
The car has 32,000 miles on it and I talked to the original owner (owned up to 16,000 miles) who said that it was not that hard to shift when he owned it, but the owner who bought it from the dealer he sold it to, told him about that same issue.

Specs:
- Full MaPerformance turbo kit
- Delicious tuning flex fuel kit
- Borla catback exhaust
- Open dump wastegate
- 350 wheel horsepower
- 12 lbs of boost
