If you’re in the break in period you shouldn’t go over 4000rpm for the first 1600kms (1000 miles), according to the manual. I tried to avoid it best I could with mine during that time.
Now I do drive it pretty hard but follow certain rules. I always wait until it’s warm before redlining it, driving it hard etc. I always get my scheduled maintenance done when it’s due, Subarus don’t like tardy maintenance apparently. If you look after it, it will look after you. I’ve got 25,000kms on it and drive it hard at least once a week and have had no issues.
Lets face it you’re not driving your nanna’s Yaris and I assume you didn’t buy it to putt around town in it, enjoy it. The car is more fun driven hard.
