Ease of maintenance and cost of repair was a big reason to get a standard transmission. Auto's were still a little "voodoo" for the backyard mechanic.


None of my first 10 cars saw a garage. It wasn't even considered an option or thought about. You broke it, you fixed it.

I don't even think about if a car is manual or auto anymore. I jump in look around and go. It makes zero difference to me.

I really like the AT FR-S and I know it not as involving as my MT car, but I like paddle shifting the AT.
