Yes I autocross and some HDPE. But I don't have the spacer set to the closest to the brake. That won't increase the play in itself, but I can see how that may put the pedal to the edge of the stopper, and so easier to slide off.
But I watched your video, and my pedal doesn't move as much, but there is some play. Maybe with age (and aggressive pedal input), the assembly slowly wear and the play increase (my car is only 2 years old).
