I was on the email list for notification when the F-RS went on sale. Upon receiving notification I called and then visited the dealer that day. I had purchased an xB from the same guy 7 mos. earlier. Didn't negotiate, got what I wanted in the first shipment and I am satisfied. It looks like if you play your cards right you can get $600-$1000 off MSRP.I have no regrets. I did refuse to pay for the $300 vehicle recovery serial number just as I did on the previous purchase. The F and I manager tried to fight me on that (greedy).
I sold the Miatas when they first arrived in 1990. We took $500 refundable deposits and discounts were out of the question. Selling Mazda was a lesson in starvation and taught me a hard lesson. The Miata was practically the only sale with a reasonable commission.
Anyway I am still in sales and I (sometimes) do ok so I figured Id afford myself the excitement of being one of the first vs. playing the game and feeling I was the smart guy.
Shame, $600 gets 2 Z's of insane hydro these days!
