Guess what. Something can be produced for the Japanese Domestic Market outside of Japan, just like USDM cars can be made in Japan and send to the US.

Stuff made in Japan for Japan is JDM
Stuff made it Japan for export is JEM (for export market)
Stuff that comes into the US from Japan is JIM (for import) once it hits port
Stuff made in the USA for Japan is USEM
Stuff imported into Japan from the US becomes USIM

No imported or exported products can be termed "domestic" even if the parent company itself is based in the importing country.
This is part of what all the tariff debates are about. A Mustang made in the US would be domestic and not taxed. The same car made in Canada (if they went through with the threats) would be considered an import and tariffs would apply even though both are Fords.

Holy crap that is confusing when I see it in print. No wonder people get it messed up.
