Either they make them unique, or they make them identical behind the bezels like they are a large rectangle. If that is the case then they likely use software to turn off the pixels of the section of the screen that is covered. I feel like cheap rectangle screens with fat bezels are super cheap (and cheap looking), but would be easy to modify to create a shape with a bezel cover, so why don’t manufacturers do this?
