Fuck it - I'll run it...there's no good answer. I totally have zero confidence in my local Toyota dealership (or ANY Toyota dealership in the area...) to take the time to do the work correctly, so there doesn't seem like there would be much satisfaction in having them do the work. Even if it ran fine afterwards, I'd always be waiting for the shoe to drop.
I think at this point I have a greater chance of failure due to the recall being performed sloppily than I do of a spring breaking. I'd still have to potentially fight with Toyota to have them fix the engine if I DID have a spring failure, but that's a low chance inside of an even lower chance to begin with. Of course now that I said that, I'm doomed...lol.
