So basically in the middle of the circle I made in the one picture originally is about 14-15mm thick. By the time I got it to fit and spin freely (even slid a piece of paper to make sure there was clearance lol) it's now about 9mm. Not sure how structurally sound that is but still seems like a decent amount of material there. Hopefully this helps someone.
