One of my very first inclinations when I first heard of this recall was that, if my car was affected, nobody was pulling my low miles engine unless it was Subaru or a boxer specialist--the latter of which would see me footing the bill. There's a couple in my area, who I hear were quoting up to $2000 for the labor. That's still better than being stuck with a seized engine and dealerships not honoring post-recall failures.
I feel like since ALL of the vehicles were built by Subaru that there should have been better coordination between the two companies to offer service using Subaru technicians, especially since there's a boxer engine here. Yes, I know that's not how dealerships work and means potentially longer wait times and a shortage of Scooby techs but the outcome would likely have been better.
