Hah yeah there's always those who try so hard to justify their choices. I never really feel the need for that - the 86 is not a perfect car by any stretch of the imagination. But it is unique - I can't find any car out there that fits *my* needs as well: lightweight + handles well + has back seats I can stuff my kids into + looks amazing + has decent reliability/low maintenance costs + gets decent safety ratings for its size + has great fuel economy + decent cargo space. And then there's the 'scrappy' nature the car has, especially with a few well placed exhaust and suspension mods. And it's quick enough for the back roads I mostly use.

All that said, I still sometimes lust after that E92 M3 V8 scream, Porsche flat 6 wail, etc. And a generally more luxurious interior is nice. So far, that hasn't been enough to lure me away yet.
